MGs at Mark Beech

We returned to a parched field behind the Kentish Horse pub in Mark Beech at the end of July. The Summer BBQ has now become an “ish” as it is BBQ style food – burger, sausage, salad, chips but cooked in the pub kitchen and served plated. The MGs are presented immediately behind the pub in a sloping field overlooking the Kent countryside.

After lunch the judging commences and the job of judging the MGs in your class begins. Points are awarded in various categories including bodywork, under bonnet, boot, wheels, interior and overall presentation of the car. The Premier PoO was judged by John and Philip who took much time studying the intricacies of each of the four MGs entered.

The point sheets handed in to Jenny for marking were soon tallied up and the winners announced in the marquee – despite John being stung by a wasp who went for an unauthorised dip in his beer!
