Summer stretched into October this year and reached the date of our Autumn Photographic Scavenger Hunt. Blue skies helped the scavengers as they walked around the three Kent villages chosen as hiding places for the photographic clues. Chiddingstone, Leigh and Penshurst are familiar to South East members as they are in the “golden Triangle” of villages and castles we use for South East events and runs central to most members in the Centre.
This event is limited in numbers as there are not always easy places to park your MG so just under twenty crews took part this year. Can you imagine what would happen if sixty MGs descended on a small village at the same time! So it is a boutique event – if you want to take part next year, you’ll need to book in early as this fun event sold out this year.

There was a distinct and slightly spooky autumnal feel to this year’s hunt, particularly with some pubs donning halloween displays, including a giant spider climbing up a wall in Chiddingstone!
The clues were there to be found but nobody found them all! The winners were Gary and Steve Goodwin who spotted an amazing 36 of them, closely followed by our youngest competitors Max and Rosie Kendall with 34.5 (they nearly got one correct but not quite!).
Then there was the scenic route between villages with the Autumn leaves all changing colour – a beautiful Kent setting for a fun hunt.
Thank you to John Morgan who has organised the whole thing and Austin Banner for helping with the marking.
