Each year our secretary, Mr Banner, sets a challenge to members and it is open to any member to take part. This year the challenge is connected with your MGs mileage and your age!

We also encourage you to come along to our Annual Lunch & Awards at Hartsfield Manor, Betchworth on Sunday 16th November to find out the results which will be announced after the awards in the morning. Note: only those attending the event either in the morning session or a full day will be able to receive a prize.

It is a fun style challenge so do take part – you might need a calculator though!

The Vintage Mileage Challenge

Are you too old or too young to take part? – Absolutely not

            Is your MG now getting mature? – Excellent

                        Have you been driving your MG this year? – Perfect.

Here’s how to compete for one of the Secretary’s special prizes.

1) As of 31^st December 2024, which age group are you?

               Under 30-         Very young,

               30 – 50 –            Young,

               50- 65                 Approaching middle age,     

               66- 80                 Middle age, 

               81+                      Maturing nicely           

This grouping gives you a score multiplier.

2) The date of your MG’s 1^st registration will determine a second multiplier.

3) Then the total miles you have driven in that car this season from 1^St January 2025 to 20^th October 2025 (which is after our last driving event) – multiplied by both multipliers is your score.

You may enter as many cars as you like but each one separately.

4) Take a photo of you with your car and submit it for a chance of further fame and prize.

Winners

• Overall highest score for one car and its driver
• Overall highest score for one driver and all his/ her MGs.
• Overall highest score for one car with more than one driver (youngest driver provides the multiplier)
• Best Photo of the driver(s) with his/her MG

Important Dates

• Your age is calculated as of 31^st December 2024
• Date of your MG’s 1^st
• Mileage from 1^st January 2025 to 20^th October 2025 in that car
• Entries must be with the secretary by Friday 31^st
• Awards Ceremony is on 16^th November 2025.
• Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at SE Centre awards ceremony.

            Note only those entries with the driver (or a representative) present at the ceremony will be considered.

The photos will be displayed at the awards ceremony, and the judging will take place there by popular vote.
