The forecast was poor for the weekend but, in the end, it turned out perfectly OK with just a light shower to dampen the marking sheets. This was the second event held at The Kentish Horse in Mark Beech. A venue easily accessible from Kent, Surrey and Sussex but retaining a country charm, overlooked by the parish church.
The PoO is self judged with the entrants marking each others cars according to set criteria and a final vote for the Car of the Show. Before the judging, though, came the Barbecue… or it would have if it hadn’t been called off due to the forecast of torrential downpours. Thankfully, the pub sealed the breach by providing “barbecue style” food in the outside marquee.
The cars varied from Richard Jefferson’s MG VA through to the latest MG4 EV. With the marking complete it was time to return to the marquee where Jenny added up the scores in the three classes.
This event was being held in memory of David Griffiths and we were delighted to welcome Ursula Griffiths who joined us to award the rosettes. The Rookcross and Black Horse trophies will be awarded at our annual lunch and two more trophies are being created for other classes.
