The Inter Register Club (IRC) has been going for over 60 years, looking after a selection of clubs that put on events, which include the Fiat, Jowett, Sunbeam, Austin Riley and Alvis Registers. The MG Car Club joined up in 2014, and has been giving the Rileys and Alvises a run for their money. In 2022 we, at last, have beaten these and the other clubs to take the prestigious trophy for 2022, which was recently handed over by Adrian Ducker on behalf of the IRC.
The Inter Register Club holds events around the country, mainly doing Treasure Hunts, Scatter Rallies, and occasionally full-blown timed rallies, so catering for grass root owners. Also during lockdown, there have been Virtual rallies using Street Google, as well as some tabletop rallies. These events are now open to all member cars up to 1963, which will include the MGA, as well as Magnettes, T, and Y-types, in addition to all the pre-war cars.
This change has helped us win the annual trophy due to several of our SE Centre MGAs competing.
