This year’s Alternative Pride of Ownership is underway with the first two rounds being completed. Over twenty MGs gathered at the Fox and Hounds pub in Walton on the Hill on a sunny evening for some gentle judging and general chatter, with a similar number at the Surrey Oaks in Newdigate.

Saturday 21st June – The Surrey Oaks, Newdigate from noon
Thursday 10th July – The Fairmile, Cobham from 7pm.

Best All Rounder – Good condition, Used often but not every day etc
Best Restored – usually an older MG that has been restored to a good standard
Car of the Show – your favourite MG of the day in any category.
No need to book – just turn up in your MG!!
Note: The third round at the Fairmile will also be an OPEN EVENING for the MG Car Club South East so if you have not been to a pub meet or event with us before or are thinking of becoming a member then you are most welcome to join us.

ROUND ONE – The Fox & Hounds
It was a nice and warm Summer’s evening at the Fox & Hounds in Walton on the Hill for the first round of this year’s Alternative PoO. 21 cars entered and the self-judging took place after some members had enjoyed a meal in the pub.
Dave Naylor with his MG L4 was voted as the car of the show.
Show organiser John Morgan also won the Most Used category despite cries of “fixed”.

ROUND TWO – The Surrey Oaks, Newdigate
The warm weather held out for the lunchtime round just five days later at The Surrey Oaks in Newdigate. If anything it was even hotter! But the competition was hotting up as well and the car of the show went to Adrian Moorhouse with his MGA this time.
