Chairman’s Notes for September 2018

As I write this at the end of August following an extended heatwave over the summer fingers are now crossed for future events during the coming autumn months.
The three rounds of the Alternative Pride of Ownership were completed on 16th July. A good turnout with a lot of enthusiasm as usual which was good to see and a big thank you must go to John Morgan for organising these events on behalf of the South East Centre. The overall competition results from the three rounds were closely fought. Results were as follows:-

First Peter Thomas (MGB GT) 35 points
Second Derek Edwards (MGA 1600) 34 points
Third Dave Naylor (L2 Magna)
(Really unusual not to be first!)
32 points

The most recent event was the European Event of the Year, held in Flims Switzerland, August 8th – 12th . A good selection of cars from the South East Centre attended and all members had an enjoyable time. All cars eventually returned safely to the UK. Looking forward to future events, the Autumn Gathering will be held on 23 rd September at Michelham Priory, BN27 3QS, with concours and pride of ownership competitions taking place. Further details and entry forms from Andrew Mitchell on 07703 138419. Entries can be accepted on the day.

This will be followed closely by the Autumn Naviscat – see website for
full details – www.mgccse.co.uk.
