Three Horseshoes Natter Alternative PoO

The third and final round was well supported last night with 13 cars at The Three Horseshoes.

As usual, Best Restored was the smallest class and was closely fought between Peter Thomas’s restored 1969 MGBGT and Adrian Malthouse’s MGA twin cam. As Peter’s car won Car of Show, Adrian’s car was awarded first place.

Best All Rounder was the largest class with 6 cars all beautifully presented. First place went to Steve Fletcher’s MGCGT with second to Derek Edwards’ MGA (although it was a tie-break between Derek’s car and Les Hudson’s MGBGT for second).

The Most Used class had 5 cars including Dave Naylor’s L2 and a couple of MGA’s. The winner was Robin Albert with his MGA who defended last year’s win with a car that truly fits the class description.

The second round at Newdigate was a new venue that had the smallest support, but the first round at The Fairmile takes the accolade for the largest turnout with 22 cars (including support from MGF Register) plus other cars that didn’t enter.

The overall competition result from the three rounds was closely fought. In third place was Dave Naylor with his L2 and 32 points (really unusual not to be first), second Derek Edwards with his MGA and 34 points but our winner this year was Peter Thomas with his MGBGT and 35 points who will receive the Annual Award at next year’s lunch.

Thank you for entering and hope to see you next year, what wonderful weather we had for this year’s competition.

Cheers,

John Morgan
