SE Centre in Lockdown

In normal circumstances, we would be enjoying some great Summer events with the South East Centre. Anything is far from normal though and all events and meets are still cancelled until further notice. We look forward to the day when Government guidelines allow us to meet up again for runs and shows but for now, there is …..Zoom!

South East MGF group Model Car Show in April

Thank goodness for the Internet which has enabled us to keep in touch with each other. Local natters have been zooming all around the Centre and other events have been taking place as well – Pub Quizzes are favourite but there have been ingenious innovations too – a model car show, a virtual walking treasure hunt around Chertsey and a Google rally/hunt on the South Coast to name three. Look out for a challenging Inter Register event that Philip is organising too on the 12th July – a virtual tabletop rally (see the News post for details).

Sadly we have missed many planned events including the Guernsey trip, MG Day at Brooklands, Spring Gathering at Watts Gallery and the Battle of Britain Run. We’ll also be missing MGLive! which should be on the 13th/14th June , the same day as Brooklands Double Twelve. Both of which, of course, have been cancelled.

Drive it Day turned into the Stay at Home Rally with Dragonfly selling special rally plates destined to never be on a moving car but raising cash for the NHS instead. Some of us managed to get out for a drive on the day though, as the video below proves!

So we have plenty to look forward to but in the meantime we can spend the unexpected extra time polishing our MGs and dealing with all those jobs you never seem to have time for!

We look forward to seeing you on a South East event ……. somewhere…. somehow ….. soon?
